Wild Card – Is everything Alright for Matthew McConaughey?

With Matthew McConaughey aging at the rapid rate of 365 days per year, this man is definitely not getting any younger. After his birth in 1969, he continually aged in this manner and has in turn grown to the ripe age of 46. According to the CDC, the average life expectancy in the United States for men is 76.4 years. This means he has surpassed the threshold of middle age and is in the latter years of his life. This in turn poses the question, is everything alright for Mr. McConaughey?

First, let’s take a look at the success of Mr. McConaughey. According to his Wikipedia page, he has a net worth of $75 million, which is safe to say he won’t need any support to pay the bills unless he plans on moving to Mars next summer. Furthermore, Mr. McConaughey is happily married to Camila Alves, and has 3 children to call his own. Overall, he has had a fairly successful life.

However, has Mr. Matthew McConaughey been struggling in recent years in terms of fame? Is he still the poster boy we grew to know and love from the early 90’s? Well, not exactly. After his breakthrough in Dazed and Confused, McConaughey went on to star in several big hit horror films. In the late 90’s he started changing to a different kind of actor, starring in comedies, action films, and science fiction movies. It wasn’t until the 2000’s where he became ultimately known for his prominence in romantic comedies. After performing in hit movies such as The Wedding Planner, Failure to Launch, and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past to name a few, McConaughey decided to take a break from the genre. Instead he branched out once again and had roles in films such as The Lincoln Lawyer, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Interstellar. Currently, he has been talking to Sony Pictures and Media Rights Capital and will likely star in the upcoming adaption of Stephen King’s Dark Tower. Over the course of the past two decades, McConaughey has managed to continue to play a prominent member in Hollywood and continues to evolve as an actor.

Given his seemingly happy family life, his large success, and prominence in Hollywood for multiple decades, it appears that everything is indeed alright, alright, alright for Matthew McConaughey.
